S'y associent un diabète, une surdité de preception et une infertilité, mais pas de signes neurologiques, opthalmo ou cardio. La mutation génétique est identifiée.</div><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;"> </p><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Le syndrome MELAS est une mitochondriopathie génétique à héritance maternelle. Comporte des atteintes extra-rénales multiples. Diagnostic génétique possible (touit au moins en France). Ce qui fait le pronostic vital, c'est la cardiopathie.
